Play Golf with EWGA-LA!

We are lucky to live where we can play golf all year round – and EWGA-LA has golf events to match. All events require registration and payment in advance via our website or a check sent to the event coordinator. Registration typically closes 2-3 weeks prior to the date of an event – so sign up early and you won't be left out. CASUAL GOLF

9 is Enough (9E) - Monthly events at 18-hole Par 3 and 9-hole executive length courses. For beginners a bridge from lessons or the driving range to playing a regulation 18 hole course. For experienced golfers an opportunity to practice your short game and mentor new golfers. Some of our 9E events are preceded by a group clinic which is included in the registration fee. 18 hole regulation - Our monthly 18-hole outings are geographically disbursed to accommodate the places our members live – so you won’t always have to drive an hour to join us! You can play just for fun – or join us in friendly competition in a variety of contests such as low putts, chip ins, closest to the pin, long drive, and an occasional team game. This year we are going to award a low net prize at every event to encourage those without handicaps to get one! (See our Handicap page for details if you have yet to establish a handicap.)

Chapter Championship – This is our premier golf event of the year – but if you do not want to compete – we want you to play “just for fun” and join us for the banquet and awards ceremony following golf.

League Play – During the summer we organize golf after work at several locations: DeBell GC in Burbank, Whitsett Park GC in Studio City, and The Lakes GC in El Segundo. Watch your email for start-up information or see our League Play page for details.

COMPETITIVE GOLF

Chapter Championship – Our annual Chapter Championship is our premier golf event of the year.  You must have a current handicap index to compete – either as an individual or as a member of a scramble team.  If you do not want to compete – we encourage you to sign up and play the event as a "just for fun" player. That way you can enjoy the banquet and awards ceremony that follows.  

As an individual competitor you will be in one of five flights determined by your handicap – playing to win low gross or low net in your flight.  Scramble teams are made up of four players (with some handicap combinations restrictions).  This event is the first of a three tier association-wide competition.  Winners from both individual and scramble competitions will advance to the Southern California / Desert Southwest Semi-Final Event. The Semi-Final will include winners from eight Western United States EWGA Chapters.   The winners of this Semi-Final event will advance to the EWGA Championship Finals.

Inter-Chapter Competitions – Four times a year we participate in match play competition with other Southern California EWGA chapters.  A current handicap index is required to register for these events.  We compete with Palm Springs, Orange County, San Diego and Santa Barbara chapters.  If you have a handicap come join us – no experience required – we will explain the rules at the event.

California Cup  - Annually we meet with all of the EWGA chapters in California for a 2-day match competition.  Each Chapter sends a team of 12 players.
