| Monthly outings at 9-hole executive and 18-hole par 3 courses offer an opportunity for new golfers to play and experienced golfers to brush up on their short game. All courses except Scholl Canyon are walk only – bring your own pull carts unless you plan to carry your bag. | THE CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP |

The Chapter Championship is our signature golf event of the year. Competitors in two divisions, stroke and four person scramble team, as well as just for fun participants are all invited.
For 2008, our event is scheduled on May 17th at Rio Hondo Golf Course in Downey. DEADLINE to register is Friday, May 2nd.

| You must have an established USGA Handicap Index in order to compete in the Chapter Championship. To find out more about establishing and maintaining a handicap index, refer to the Handicap 101 document on our website or contact our Handicap Chair, Karen Krull, at handicap@ewgala.org.

All California Chapters meet again. A team of 12 players will represent the Los Angeles Chapter. Two days of Match Play in Monterey at Blackhorse & Bayonet golf courses. Details available later this year. |

Women in Golf Week |
| |
Now in its fourth year, Women's Golf Week has been expanded to the entire month of June, allowing more facilities and more women to participate. This month long effort is a collaboration of the top U.S. golf organizations aimed at increasing the participation of women in golf. Women interested in participating in Women's Golf Month activities can register online. Locate a participating host facility in your area, learn more about the specific activities that will be offered at your facility of choice, and register online.

in Myrtle Beach, SC, August 25-29, 2008, The “World Am”, formerly known as the Dupont WORLD AM, has been a staple of amateur competition for 21 years; offering all amateurs with a USGA handicap the chance to become World Champion. This tournament offers a four-round, 72-hole Tour-style competition on some of Myrtle Beach ’s most famed courses. in Sunriver, Oregon, September 27 to October 2, 2008. The “Pac Am” consists of a 54-hole, net, stroke play tournament with an 18-hole playoff for the top four players from each flight. All amateur golfers with an established USGA Handicap Index are eligible to compete.
